WELCOME TO THE PYPX 2022!

The exhibition of this year addressed a very important topic that affects our very lives and future. “Sharing the Planet.” We humans live on and take from Mother Earth every single day. This has led to the very place we call home being damaged, destroyed, and depleted.

Our intrepid students decided to take action. And the best way to do this is through education and information. With this in mind they set off to develop their groups’ Central Ideas and then three Lines of Inquiry for central idea.

Waste Management was the central idea of group 1. Their intention was to show how responsible waste management improves our quality of life AND prolongs sustainable resources. They addressed issues of plastic and personal choices and our waste management in connection to our health and the environment. Karolina, Mia, Grigoriy and Wiktor did amazing research and produced an informative and stirring presentation.
Our second group, Jan, Nel and Viktor, showed how Climate Change and global warming affects animal migratory routes and destinations. They showed how pollution contributes to global warming, and how the habitats in turn are affected by global warming. Strong and vivid connections! Yet, despite these changes, animals are adapting to their environments. However, with natural habitats decreasing, even adaptation is not enough for some species survival.
Group 3 wanted to show how Living organisms interact with natural resources to create harmony and sustainability. Natalia, Amanda, Nina, and Vincent highlighted that our Earth’s resources are dwindling at an alarming rate, and how dependent humans are on these natural resources, but also on other living organisms and their interaction with these natural resources. Most importantly, it is up to us, humans, to safeguard and preserve what remains of our Earth’s natural resources.
Anna, Tosia, Kuba and Szymon tried to educate us on how the Access to forests influences the surrounding communities, the economy, as well as the fate of all living things. Not surprisingly, people’s greed was the number one contributor to the negative impact on the environment. They showed how all forest inhabitants access the forests, and how we are the only ones who can protect and save our forests.
Our fifth and final group, Zosia, Luca & Matylda, brought to our attention the biggest and, most probably, one of the most serious problems facing the environment and the Earth: Pollution of the oceans lead to a ripple effect on all living organisms on our planet. From polluting and overfishing to ways in which our daily pattern of life affects the marine environment, they endeavored to encourage us to improve our habits and to be proactive in saving our oceans.
This year’s grade 6 Exhibition group went far and beyond what was expected of them. They did educate and activation our community to become aware of the state of our planet, and what we could, and SHOULD, so to heal and save this one and only planet we have. Well Done! Mission accomplished!

Once again, our Sixth Graders have risen to the challenge, and exceeded expectations.

In the runup to this year's Exhibition, we've been thoroughly impressed by the students' collective levels of enthusiasm, creativity, knowledge, and determination. However, nothing could have prepared us for some of the quality, maturity, and delivery of the final persuasive speeches and presentations: the collective impact of which has proven such an unprecedented success.

It has been a real treat to be able to experience the Exhibition as a live event once more: the fact that we're also able to revisit it via website is a tremendous bonus, since - more than ever - a greater number will be able to appreciate the hard work that has gone into every aspect of the exhibition process.

We couldn't be more impressed and proud of our Sixth Grade students, as well as with everyone who guided and supported them along the way.
